Privacy Policy
This explains what ClipBrief collects when you use the app, why we need it, who helps us process it and how you can delete it.
Who we are
ClipBrief (“we”, “us”) makes the ClipBrief app for iPhone and Android, which breaks down short videos into their script, edits, on-screen text and structure. This policy covers the app and this website.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, which you use to sign in with a one-time code, and the name you give us.
- Videos and links you add. Videos you upload from your phone, links you paste or share, and the public videos we fetch from those links.
- What the app creates for you. Breakdowns, transcripts, your questions and the answers, collections and your credit history.
- Technical information. Your IP address and basic request details, which we use to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce usage limits.
- Purchases. If you buy a plan or credits, Apple or Google handles the payment. We receive confirmation of what you bought, never your card details.
We don’t use advertising trackers, and we don’t sell your information.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To analyze the videos you add and answer your questions about them.
- To store your library so you can come back to it.
- To track credits, plans and usage limits.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
Who helps us process it
We share information only with services that help us run ClipBrief:
- Google (Gemini API) analyzes your videos and answers your questions. The video, its analysis and your question are sent to Google for this.
- Cloud storage and hosting providers store your videos and run our servers.
- Resend delivers the sign-in codes we email you.
- Video import services. When you add a link, we fetch the public video from Instagram or TikTok, either directly or through a third-party service. Only the link is shared with that service.
- Apple and Google process in-app purchases.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and ClipBrief.
How long we keep it
We keep your videos, breakdowns and chats until you delete them or your account. Deleting a video removes the video file and everything we created from it. Copies held by our service providers are removed on their own schedules, and backups may keep data for a limited time before they’re overwritten.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, videos, breakdowns, chats, collections and credits. You can also ask us to do it by email.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local law. Email us and we’ll respond within the time the law requires.
Where it’s processed
We’re based in India. Our servers and service providers may process your information in other countries, including in the European Union and the United States. We use providers that protect it to the standard this policy describes.
Security
We encrypt data in transit, limit who can access it and use sign-in codes instead of passwords. No service can promise perfect security, so please tell us if you notice anything wrong.
Children
ClipBrief isn’t meant for children under 13, or the minimum age in your country if that’s higher. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll also tell you in the app.
